Intune Citrix Workspace

  • May 07, 2020 We are hoping to deploy the latest Citrix Workspace app using Microsft Intune. Historically we were using the.bat provided by Citrix to deploy using GPO, so we are not sure if anyone here has used Intune to push the app.
  • When we talk about a digital workspace app, it will likely conjure up a mental image of VMware’s Workspace ONE Hub or Citrix’s Workspace App. But, of course, they’re not the only vendors offering organizations a digital workspace platform. Microsoft has their own workspace app interface—the Intune Company Portal app.

Citrix Workspace app is a client component in a Citrix infrastructure that allows a user to launch resources in a Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops (CVAD) environment, formerly known as XenApp and XenDesktop. With resources I mean for example (Saas) applications and virtual desktops. One of the most frequently asked questions from customers is whether it is possible to publish Win32 applications with Microsoft Intune. The answer is Yes. It is possible to deploy Windows 10 Store Apps, MSI files and even.EXE files. Although.EXE files cannot be published directly. You need to “wrap” the.EXE file (and other required source files if applicable) to an.INTUNEWIN file.

A successful adoption or migration to Microsoft Intune starts with a plan. This plan depends on your current mobile device management (MDM) environment, business goals, and technical requirements. Additionally, you need to include the key stakeholders who will support and collaborate with your plan.

We created some planning and deployment guides to help plan your adoption or move to Intune.

Tip

This guide is a living thing. So, be sure to add or update existing tips and guidance you've found helpful.

Before you begin

  • Your Intune deployment might be different from a previous MDM deployment. Intune uses identity-driven access control. It doesn't require a network proxy to access organization data from devices outside your network.

Review the common ways to use Intune.

  • These guides assume you've evaluated Intune in a proof of concept (PoC) environment, and decided to use it as the MDM solution in your organization. You're familiar with Intune and its features.
